Offers expert advice, analysis, and strategic guidance to a business

Focuses on providing high-level expertise and advisory services - often methodology-based

Control

Consultants have control in decision-making, and the client outsources their expertise

Ownership of Outcome

Consultants often provide an outcome-based solution - which is essentially the commodity

Duration

Usually, shorter-term engagements with a specific project. Can become iterative with renewed scope of services.

Offers cross-industry knowledge and strategic insights.
